Reciprocating Pump Working Model (SMT-FM-45-A)
This equipment is used to explain the working principle of a reciprocating piston pump and its role as a positive displacement pump. It helps in understanding how such pumps deliver fluid in pulses and demonstrates concepts like suction and delivery strokes, pressure variations, and volumetric efficiency in an easy-to-observe way.
The unit comes mounted on a strong steel frame and is supplied ready for installation. Hoses with quick-release couplings and clamping levers make the setup simple and quick. The pump is connected to the Universal Drive and Brake Unit through a V-belt, and the belt transmission ratio ensures that the pump runs at a controlled reduced speed for clear and safe demonstration.
It is widely used in fluid mechanics and hydraulics laboratories where students can observe the performance of a reciprocating pump under different conditions. The rig provides a hands-on method for studying pump characteristics, improving understanding of theory with practical demonstration, and is a valuable teaching tool in engineering education.
