Two Stage Reciprocating Air Compressor with Intercooler (SMT-HT-17)
The purpose of this study unit is to investigate the working principle and performance characteristics of a two-stage reciprocating air compressor with intercooling. It enables recording of compressor characteristics, visualization of the compression process on a p-V diagram, and evaluation of parameters such as pressure, temperature, throughput, and power consumption.
The design consists of a two-stage air compressor equipped with an intercooler. Pressures and temperatures for both stages are monitored through sensors and displayed on digital readouts, with the option of transferring data to a computer via a data acquisition card. Air throughput and electrical power consumption are measured accurately. The unit is provided with a touch LCD display for process visualization and measurement monitoring, and it includes computer software for extended data analysis. Both the touch screen interface and software connectivity ensure user-friendly operation and detailed evaluation.
This unit is beneficial for laboratory experiments and academic demonstrations, allowing students to gain practical knowledge of multi-stage compression processes and intercooling effects. It enhances understanding of thermodynamic cycles, improves learning outcomes through real-time data analysis, and provides essential skills for applications in mechanical and thermal engineering fields.
